    Era the Mesozoic
    • The term dinosaur refers to the 5m to 25m long reptiles that roamed the earth from the Jurassic period through the Cretaceous period.
    • The dinosaur footprint fossils in Uiseong Jeo-ri were found when a mountainside was being excavated to expand the local roads in Uiseong District. The fossil is assumed to be from the Cretaceous period of the Mesozoic and was made approximately 115 million years ago.
    • From the dinosaur footprint fossils found here, 316 footprints of 4 types were verified and 3 types of footprints of herbivorous dinosaurs such as Ultrasauripus ungulatus, Koseongosauripus onychion and Elephantosauripus metacarpus and the footprint of a carnivorous dinosaur, Megalosauripus Koreanensis. The footprints of large, medium and small herbivorous and carnivorous dinosaurs were found here at the same time, so it can be assumed that the area was a habitat for dinosaurs.
    • The dinosaur footprint fossils in Uiseong Jeo-ri were designated and are now preserved as natural treasures for their high academic value because the size, step and walking direction can be learned by observing the fossil, so it is like a document for studying the features and lifestyle of the dinosaurs in that period.

    • The area has 10 species of trees including oak trees, zelkova trees and nettle trees and the trees range from 400~600 years old. The 20-30m high trees form an 800m long dense forest.
