Size
The total area of Uiseong-gun is 1,176.6km2, and it accounts for 1.2% of the entire land mass of South Korea and 6.2% of Gyeongsangbuk-do. By usage, forests and fields, the largest area, amount to 835.764km2 (71.7%), rice paddies 216.89km2(18.4%) and rivers 33.92km2 (2.9%) in the order. Oksan-myeon, the largest area in the gun, amounts to 104.12km2, and Danbuk-myeon, the smallest, 24km2.
Gaum and Gumseong-myeon areas consist of a large portion of arable lands and large fields and large plains ranging from Bongyang-myeon, Bian, Gucheon, Danmil, Danbuk and Angye to Dain so these areas grow granary where there are more rice paddies than fields. Angye plain is cited as a superb plain in the province. Other areas tend to have mostly forest lands than narrow flat lands.
